Rahul Gandhi to address Maharani’s students in Mysuru

Mysuru: After addressing a 2,000-strong gathering of students at Mount Carmel College in 2015 in Bengaluru, Congress President Rahul Gandhi seems to adopt the same strategy to win over student voters in the 2018 Assembly elections in Karnataka. He is scheduled to address students of Maharani’s College in city this month end. The exact date of the interaction will be  announced soon.

Speaking to Star of Mysore this morning, MLA Vasu said that originally, Rahul’s meeting was fixed with the students at Vidya Vikas Institute of Engineering and Technology. “As Maharani’s College has more students and that too from poor and lower-income families, we suggested Rahul’s Office to hold an interaction there,” Vasu added.

A preliminary discussion on hosting Rahul Gandhi was discussed at the Governing Council meeting of Maharani’s College this morning. This is for the second time that Rahul is holding an interaction with students in Mysuru.

It may be recalled that Rahul Gandhi, the then AICC General Secretary, had an interaction with the students of St. Philomena’s College during his visit to  city on Aug. 13, 2010.
