Chamundeshwari Rathotsava on Oct. 24
Mysuru: As preparations are on for the Chamundeshwari Rathotsava atop Chamundi Hill on Oct. 24, the special lift used to place the festival idol on the chariot was inspected by Railway Workshop staff on Wednesday.
The 30-ft lift, maintained by the Railway Workshop at Ashokapuram in Mysuru, is used to lift and place the idol on the chariot during the Rathotsava.
As part of the inspection, officials and technical experts checked the lift’s load-bearing capacity, ropes and other mechanical components. After the inspection, the team certified the lift as fit for use.
Officials said the safety inspection was carried out to ensure the smooth conduct of the Rathotsava, which is held after the Dasara festivities. The inspection was conducted under the guidance of Chief Workshop Manager (CWM) Sandeep Kumar Verma in the presence of Deputy CWM Dharmendra Kumar, Assistant Workshop Manager A. Krupesh, Ramakrishna and Chamundi Hill Development Authority Secretary M.J. Roopa, Technical experts Nagesh, P. Kumaraswamy and Kiran and temple staff Subramanya and Nagaraju.
