Rain fury in Hanagodu

Hanagodu: The Kalnar cement roof tops of nearly 15 houses were blown away at the B.R. Kaval village in Hunsur taluk following strong winds and heavy rains that lashed the taluk yesterday. A cow belonging to the Ilati breed costing around Rs. 70,000 belonging to Kumar in B.R. Kaval died when it was struck by lightning. A very old Honge tree was uprooted on the Hanagodu-Panchavalli Main Road in Kademanudanahalli, thus blocking traffic for hours.

In Hebbalu two trees, a coconut and a teak tree fell on the house belonging to Revanna causing huge damage to the house and loss of property. Nearly 100 to 150 electric poles fell in Kikkerikatte and Bekyasheddu villages due to strong winds and heavy rain plunging the entire area into darkness.

Tahsildar Basavaraju, Revenue Inspector Rajkumar, Deputy Tahsildar Gurusiddaiah, KEB Assistant Executive Engineer Siddappa and others were involved in the clearing operations of branches, trees and electric poles, from this morning.
