Rain, rain go away… Let the city shine again

Of late people of Mysuru and tourists wait with bated breath to see the tastefully illuminated city. But incessant and unrelenting rain has proved to be a killjoy. For the lights to glow again after rain, men have to get onto the streets with ladders, wires and equipment to restore the bulbs that have been damaged due to downpour. Though it is a risky affair to climb the metal scaffolding right in the middle of the road amidst rain, these people take trouble to ensure that the lights glow again, bringing smiles back on faces. The photograph shows workmen setting right the bulbs on New Sayyaji Rao Road last evening amidst drizzle. With just four days to go for the illumination to end, their responsibility has only increased.
