Mysore/Mysuru: Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha (KRRS) has sought a high-level probe into the alleged land grabbing in Mysuru.
Addressing a press meet at Jaladarshini Guest House here this morning, KRRS State President Badagalapura Nagendra said, “It is very unfortunate that people had to witness this mega tussle between two IAS officers in city recently. Many people have called me to express their disgust over this unfortunate incident. In addition, elected representatives and officials are involved in this alleged land scam in Mysuru. This is a serious issue. Hence, we would like to know the truth behind all these allegations. The State Government should set up a high-level enquiry headed by a sitting Judge to probe these land-grabbing allegations.”
“We have already written a letter to Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa in this regard. This tussle involving IAS officers in administration, is a reminiscent of colonial rule under the British. We do not need such officers or this type of administration,” he said.
Speaking of support prices to crops Nagendra said, “The Central Government has now announced new Minimum Support Price (MSP) for 14 kharif crops. We would like to urge the Government to make MSP a legal right for farmers. Raitha Sangha will be holding Statewide protest against rising prices of fuel, electricity and other essential commodities in the third week of this month,” he added.
Farmer leaders Hosakote Basavaraju and P. Marankaiah were present at the press meet.
