‘Raja Maryada Merugiri’ award presented to 40 achievers

Kannada Samskrutika Sammelana concludes

Mysuru:  The two-day Akhila Bharata Kannada Samskrutika Sammelana, organised by Akhila Bharata Kannada Samskrutika Parishat, concluded at Sarada Vilas Centenary Hall in Krishnamurthypuram here on Wednesday.

‘Raja Maryada Merugiri’ award was presented to 40 achievers in various fields which included Kudli Gururaj, K. Raghuram, M. B. Vishwanath, Amshi Prasanna Kumar, J.C. Rajanna, Chandrashekaraiah, Jainahalli Sathyanarayana Gowda, Dr. V. Lakshminarayan, Dr. Kamala Raman, G. Niranjan, Pushpa Iyengar, C. Narayanagowda, Rita and  Kalkere Nagaraj.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Bhashyam Swamiji of Sri Yoganarasimhaswamy Temple said that creative thoughts could be found in yoga, novels, plays, history or in general literature and  culture.

He further said that when many english words were critically examined one can find the basic meanings of Kannada words. He recalled that kings, scholars and littérateurs always used to patronise music. He opined that Kannada Samskrutika Sammelana need months for  full coverage and cannot be condensed to a couple of days.

Sammelana President Prof. Padma Shekar, Suyog Hospital head Dr. S.P. Yoganna, Sarada Vilas Institutions President B.S. Parthasarathay, Parishat Honorary President N. Girigowda and others were present.
