Bengaluru: The Swami Vivekananda Jagriti Samiti has dispatched the first instalment of 10,000 granite slabs for the construction of Ram Mandir at Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh.
The slabs were loaded in five lorries at Sadahalli in Devanahalli taluk and sent to Ayodhya and will reach its destination in eight days.
The slabs will be sent in a span of six months. The work on Ayodhya temple has been completed and will be thrown open to the public by 2023 end. However, the entire temple complex is expected to be ready by 2025.
More than 2 lakh bricks gifted by Ram bhakts and collected by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) during the decades-long temple movement, will also be used for building the Mandir.
The temple premises also house temples dedicated to deities including Lord Ganesha, Shiva, Surya, Durga, Vishnu and Brahma.
Pejawar Seer Sri Vishwaprasanna Theertha Swamiji, Union Minister Shobha Karandlaje, and BJP National Organising Secretary B.L. Santhosh flagged off lorries yesterday.
