Public viewing until tomorrow evening

Mysore/Mysuru: A replica of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya is currently on display at the Sri Mahalakshmi Temple in Kanakadasanagar near Dattagalli and is open for public viewing until tomorrow evening. The replica was kept for display on Oct. 15 as part of Navarathri and Dasara celebrations.

According to temple authorities, hundreds of people have already visited the replica, which is constructed from thermocol. This precise replica of the Ayodhya Temple stands at 9 feet in height and measures 15 feet by 15 feet in width.

The creation of this replica is part of a Sankalpa (vow) by Vinay Kumar, who has undertaken to place identical replicas at 108 locations throughout the country. The most recent replica was installed at the Mantralaya Sri Guru Raghavendra Swamy Mutt in Kurnool District, Andhra Pradesh. The installation at the Mahalakshmi Temple in Mysuru is the 41st of its kind, following the 40th installation in Mantralaya.

During every festive season, the Mahalakshmi Temple organises Ramayana Patana, a recitation of the Ramayana, by Tulasi Ramachandra. This year, they received a request from Vasudha Mahalakshmi in Bengaluru to display the replica of the Ram Temple in Mysuru, which the Mahalakshmi Temple readily agreed to.

Following its display in Mysuru, the replica will be moved to other locations as part of the 108 destinations outlined in Vinay Kumar’s Sankalpa.
