Mysore/Mysuru: KR Constituency MLA S. A. Ramdas has written a letter to Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa and Finance and Health Department officials, thanking them for releasing funds for purchase of medicines for COVID patients in Mysuru, Mandya and Chamarajanagar districts.
Ramdas said that he visited the KSMSCL (Karnataka State Medical Supplies Corporation Limited) depot and the Health & Family Welfare Department Office in the city on May 13, when he found that there was shortage of COVID medicines.
Later, he wrote to the CM to take appropriate measures for sufficient medicine supplies, following which the CM spoke to Mysuru Deputy Commissioner.
The CM also directed the Additional Chief Secretaries of Finance and Health Departments to take necessary measures for medicine supplies.
Later, following oral instructions from the DC, the Health and Family Welfare Department officials wrote to the Additional Chief Secretary of Health seeking immediate release of Rs. 50 lakh for purchase of medicines. Now, the Department has taken measures for releasing funds for purchase of COVID medicines, he said.
