Mysuru: The city-based Rangavalli theatre troupe will be staging comedy play ‘Parameshi Prema Prasanga’ at Mini Theatre in Kalamandira premises on Feb. 12 and 13 at 6.30 pm on both the days.
Inspired by the works of English writer P.G. Wodehouse, this romantic comedy is penned by Srinivasa Prabhu. The renowned designer H.K. Dwarakanath has crafted the stage design, while Madhu Ninasam has designed the lighting and Bhupathi has composed the music. C.V. Saritha and Manju Kachakki are in charge of makeup and Hariprasad has designed the costumes.
The play brings together an eccentric set of characters — Parameshi and Rashmi, caught in the tangled web of love; the formidable Ambabai, a reincarnation of Kaliya; her seemingly timid but shrewd husband, the lion-hearted Hulivan Bhuthanathayya; Krishnaoji, an ever-enthusiastic compiler of handbooks, and his childhood sweetheart Venkatasubbi; the poetic policeman Vyakulray; Pundarīku, a thief straight out of Obiraiya’s time, and his modern-day bandit wife, Cheṇṇi; and finally, Desai, who seems to exist solely to eat.
The play is directed by Ravi Prasad. Tickets are priced at Rs. 100. For details, contact Mob: 94488-71815 or 99016-26701 or 99646-56482.
