Range-level Police Duty Meet to conclude this evening

Mysuru: A two-day Range-level Police Duty Meet-2017 of the Southern Range began at Karnataka Police Academy (KPA) premises in    city yesterday.

City Police Commissioner Dr. A. Subrahmanyeswara Rao inaugurated the event in the presence of SP Ravi D. Channannavar. IGP (Southern Range) Vipul Kumar presided over   the function.

This Meet will see 160 Police Officers and staff competing in 21 events divided in following five categories: • Scientific Aids to Investigation; • Photography and Videography; • Computer Awareness; • Anti-Sabotage Check and • Dog Squad.

The prize winners of these events will participate in the State-level Police Duty Meet.

In his inaugural address, Dr. Rao stressed on the importance of Scientific Crime Investigation. Ravi D. Channanavar spoke about the importance of standard procedures in Police functioning.

Vipul Kumar, in his presidential address, urged all participants to give their best and represent the State in the 61st All India Police Duty Meet to be held in Chennai early next year.

The Range-level Meet will end today with closing ceremony at 5 pm. PWD and District in-Charge Minister Dr. H.C. Mahadevappa will distribute the medals and certificates to the prize winners.
