Mysuru: Strongly condemning the rape and murder of a community girl in Bhalki taluk of Bidar district recently, nearly a hundred members of Savitha Samaja staged a demonstration in front of the DC’s office yesterday morning, demanding harsh punishment to the culprits for the heinous crime.
Stating that the rape and murder of the girl was a blot on the society, the protesters demanded justice to the victim and a compensation of Rs.25 lakh to the victim’s family.
Samaja leaders V. Rajkumar, N.R. Nagesh, Karnananda Basava Swamiji and others took part in the protest.
