Periyapatna: Bettadapura Police, yesterday arrested two youths for allegedly raping a minor girl, who delivered a baby boy on Thursday.

The victim, a 15-year-old minor girl had gone to her aunt’s place in Kodlipet in Kodagu to look after her aunt’s daughter who had delivered a baby.

The accused youths identified as Raju and Swamy, residents of Kodlipet had lured her and had allegedly raped her frequently when no one was present in the house and had also threatened the girl of murdering her if she disclosed the incident with anyone.

The girl after returning from Kodlipet did not disclose the incident with anyone out of fear and the incident came to light when the girl delivered the baby boy.

The shocked parents then asked her about the incident following which, the girl informed her parents about what had happened to her at Kodlipet. The parents then lodged a complaint at Bettadapura Police Station.

Periyapatna Circle Inspector H.N. Siddaiah, Bettadapura SI Chikkaswamy, Constables Manju, Mallesh and Kemparaju, who conducted investigations, traced the accused and arrested them who have now been remanded to judicial custody.
