Ration Card number must for getting Birth/ Death certificates

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rohini Sindhuri has issued an order making it mandatory for citizens to mention their Family Ration Card number for getting Birth/ Death certificates. In a direction issued to all Birth/ Death Registration Officers, the DC said that all Birth and Death records are being registered using e-Janma software. As per a Government order that has come into effect from Mar. 20, all Birth/ Death certificates should be issued via e-Janma software, for which the mention of Ration Card number is a must.

Continuing, the DC said that as per a Government order issued on Nov. 11, 2020, the mention of Ration Card number is also mandatory for all residents of Karnataka to avail Government services, facilities and benefits.
