July 17, 2024

Mysore/Mysuru: Online fraudsters, who lured a city realtor into investing money by promising huge profits for the investment have cheated him of Rs. 69 lakh.

The realtor, who lost his money is Rajesh (name changed), a resident of Vijayanagar in city.

Rajesh was informed about SKY SCANER company by his friend, who also told Rajesh that there were certain rules to be followed and he (Rajesh) had to give good rating to ticket booking topic, following which he would get 50 percent profit on his investment.

Believing his friend, Rajesh initially invested Rs. 10,000 for which he got Rs. 15,400 which included his investment amount and profit on the same day.

With an urge to make a windfall, Rajesh, as instructed by his friend invested Rs. 30,000 the next day.

Though he got huge profit, he was unable to withdraw the money and contacted the fraudsters, who told him to invest Rs. 54,115 again and he would be given  profit for the total money he had invested, following which the fraudsters got a total of Rs. 68.96 invested forcibly from Rajesh in three months, thus leaving him cheated later.

Meanwhile, CEN Police have warned people against falling prey to fraudsters, who con people into investing money by promising high returns as profit.

The Cops said that though they have been creating awareness among the public by distributing handbills, pasting posters in Banks, Government Offices, public places and even newspapers publishing reports of such crimes taking place and people losing huge money, the people have not bothered to be careful and are still falling victim to online fraudsters.
