Mysore/Mysuru: Dr. Mallika Tharakan, who was awarded Ph.D degree in Development Studies (Institute of Development Studies, Manasagangothri) by the University of Mysore last year, has now received the Motwani Jadeja Impact Fellowship from Motwani Jadeja Foundation, Mumbai, to attend a world conference organised by the United Nations General Assembly at New York from Sept. 22 to 28.
Her Ph.D thesis was titled “Empowerment and its association with well-being among rural adolescent girls in Koppal District, Karnataka” (Guide: Dr. M. Meera).
As per the citation, this Impact Fellowship has been given to Dr. Mallika in recognition of her exceptional leadership and unwavering commitment to fostering transformative social impact.
This Fellowship, which aims to empower leaders for catalysing significant change and strengthen US – India corridor, will not only amplify her work but also foster meaningful global connections.
Dr. Mallika is the daughter of Kambeyanda Swathi and K.C. Sunil Biddappa, retired Senior Vice-President, ITC Ltd., residents of Lalitha Mahal Road, Mysuru.
