Mysore/Mysuru: Karnataka Rajya Nagarapalike, Nagarasabhe, Purasabhegala Pourakarmikara Mahasangha has appealed to Chief Minister Siddharamaiah to regularise the services of Pourakarmikas getting direct payment facility, drivers, loaders, cleaners and UGD workers and all those involved in cleaning works.
Former Mayor Narayan, also the President of Karnataka Rajya Nagarapalike, Nagara Sabhe, Purasabhegala Pourakarmikara Mahasangha, made the above demand at Pathrakartara Bhavana in city on May 26.
“The services of all those workers involved in cleaning works should be regularised at a time and a memorandum has also been submitted to the Chief Minister in this regard. The CM has also responded positively,” said Narayan.
Following the State-wide protest by staying away from the works on July 4, 2022, the then Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai had assured to regularise the services of direct payment Pourakarmikas and bring others — drivers, loaders, cleaners and UGD workers — working on outsource basis under direct payment facility. The Government Order had also been issued to regularise the services of 11,333 Pourakarmikas in the first phase and 12,872 in the second phase. But the process was not conducted in adequate manner, alleged Narayan.
R. Shivu, Vice-President of Karnataka Rajya Nagarapalike, Nagarasabhe, Purasabhegala Pourakarmikara Mahasangha, Treasurer Yathiraju and President of Federation of Slum Dwellers Association R. Das were present.
