MLC Raghu Kautilya demands MDA
Mysuru: Maintaining that the State Government passed an order cancelling the allotment of 1,100 alternative sites which were sanctioned on 50:50 ratio basis by the erstwhile MUDA (now renamed as MDA), fearing that the matter would come for a debate in the upper house during the ongoing State Legislature session, BJP MLC Raghu Kautilya questioned the Government on when it would physically take back (reclaim) the now cancelled sites.
Addressing a press meet at the city BJP office in Chamarajapuram here yesterday, Raghu alleged that the State order had not technically mentioned the sites as allotted under 50:50 ratio basis, in order to benefit the illegal beneficiaries of alternative sites.
“The Government has not released the list of beneficiaries of such sites, but has simply mentioned the cancellation of 1,100 sites. A thorough scrutiny of the Government order leads to suspicion that this order is to protect the illegal beneficiaries who have been allotted the sites”, he pointed out.
Contending that MDA (then MUDA) had become a Private Limited Authority rather than a Government-run body, the MLC wondered why no action has been taken against another MUDA Commissioner D.B. Natesh, who has also played a major role in the multi-crore scam.
“The Government fears that UD Minister Dr. Yathindra Siddaramaiah would have to go to jail if action is taken against D.B. Natesh. The Minister is trying best to save the skin of his family members in connection with the allotment of 14 alternative sites to his family members.
The order cancelling the allotment of 1,100 sites seems to be a mere eyewash, with an ulterior motive and ultimate objective of covering up the entire scam, that runs to thousands of crores of rupees. The Congress Government, instead of taking stern action against Natesh for his wilful wrongdoings, has instead promoted him to a higher post.
The then MUDA Commissioner D.B. Natesh can be said as the ‘Kingpin’ of the mega multi-crore MUDA Scam which had hit national headlines and it is a million dollar question on why he has been let off,” he said and urged the Government to immediately take legal action against Natesh.
Referring to the proposal of naming the over a century old Mysore Medical College and Research Institute (MMC&RI) after Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar, Raghu said that the proposal has evoked a positive response from the Government.
Commenting on the ongoing footpath clearance drive by the MCC, the MLC demanded the Civic Body to provide a permanent alternative space with all civic amenities for street vendors to carry out their business.
Questioning the Government over the organisation of Kambala during Dasara at Mysuru, Raghu taunted the Government saying that it was going ahead with the holding of the event when the city was facing a shortage of drinking water. “It is not Kambala, but loot of money (Gumbala) in the name of the coastal sport,” he said.
BJP office-bearers Mahesh Raje Urs and Papanna were present at the press meet.
