Renovation of Foot Over Bridge staircases at Mysuru Railway Station underway

Works to be completed in 60 days Temporary diversions for passengers

Mysore/Mysuru: South Western Railway (SWR) Mysuru Division has undertaken infrastructure upgradation works at Mysuru Railway Station to enhance safety and passenger convenience.

As part of these efforts, the staircases of the Foot Over Bridge (FOB) on Platform No. 2 and 3 will undergo major renovation and structural repairs for a duration of 60 days. The existing staircases, constructed several decades ago, have shown signs of ageing and now require strengthening and modernisation to meet present day safety standards, stated a press release from SWR.

During the renovation period, temporary diversions have been arranged to facilitate smooth passenger movement. Passengers are advised to use the lifts and the subway to access various platforms and amenities.

Adequate directional signage, regular public announcements, and assistance from station staff will be provided to guide passengers and minimise inconvenience. SWR press release has regretted any inconvenience caused during this period and sought the co-operation of passengers to complete the works in a timely and safe manner.

The renovation is an important step towards creating a safer, more accessible and passenger-friendly railway environment at Mysuru Railway Station, the release added.
