Repair this road

Sir,

I wish to bring to the attention of the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) the extremely poor and hazardous condition of the road at Vivekanandanagar, 12th Cross, 4th Main. The road was dug up about a week ago for cable-laying and repair work.

However, the excavated portions have been left unattended, with large pits, loose soil, stones and uneven surfaces causing serious difficulties for both pedestrians and motorists.

Several senior citizens reside on this road and are facing immense hardship in moving around safely. The open pits and uneven surface pose a serious risk of falls and injuries and could even lead to life-threatening accidents. Vehicles, too, are finding it difficult to pass through this damaged stretch.

Unfortunately, when residents enquire about the completion of the work, they are unable to get a clear answer on who is responsible or when the road will be restored. On behalf of the senior citizens and other residents, I request the concerned to inspect the stretch immediately, fill the excavated portions and dangerous pits and restore road to a safe and motorable condition.

Such repair works must be completed properly without leaving residents exposed to safety hazards.
