Reservation issue: Panchamasalis threaten to launch stir from Oct. 1

Panchamasali Lingayats have warned the Government of launching an indefinite stir from Oct. 1, if the Government fails to announce reservation for the community by Sept. 15, as promised earlier.

Speaking to media at Hubballi, Sri Basavajaya Mrutyunjaya Swamiji of Koodalasangama said that Basavaraj Bommai as the Home Minister then, had promised during the last Assembly Session that the Govt. will consider 2A category reservation for Panchamasali Lingayat community by Sept. 15. But now Bommai has become CM and he should keep his promise on reservation by Sept. 15. If not, the community will be forced to again launch an indefinite stir at Bengaluru’s Freedom Park from Oct. 1, he warned.
