Resident Doctors stir enters fifth day

Resident Doctors on indefinite stir at K.R. Hospital premises in city this morning.

Mysore/Mysuru: The indefinite strike launched by Resident Doctors attached to MMC&RI in K. R. Hospital premises seeking fulfilment of their demands, entered the fifth day today.

Urging the Government for payment of COVID risk allowance, restructure of academic fees according to 2018-19 year  and timely payment of stipend to Post-Graduates and Interns, among others,  the Resident Doctors, under the aegis of Karnataka Association of Resident Doctors (KARD), had  launched their indefinite stir on Nov.29, the third one in over a month.

But as the Government has been unresponsive to their demands so far, they have continued their stir for the fifth straight day today. The resident doctors had first launched the stir in Oct. 2021 and again on Nov. 9, which was called off five days later then following an assurance from the Government on fulfilment of their demands.
