Residents protest for drinking water

Mysore/Mysuru: With problems in drinking water supply increasing day by day in MCC Ward No. 50, the residents of the ward seeking solutions to the issue staged a protest in city on Tuesday,

The residents, led by former MLA M.K. Somashekar and Corporator Lokesh Piya, who assembled near the water tank on Vani Vilas Road, alleged that there was no supply of drinking water since a week at Sunnadakeri, Rehamania Street, Besthageri and Kakarawadi which was causing a lot of problems to the residents.

Accusing MCC Commissioner and officials concerned of not taking steps to solve the issue despite lodging complaints, the residents said that they had even brought the negligent attitude of the officials to the notice of the MLA but nothing positive took place and urged the officials concerned to take steps to solve the problem.

Block Congress President G. Somashekar, Ward President Nasir, OBC City President Shivamallu, former Corporator Zakir Pasha, Spokesperson Srinivas, OBC State Secretary Mogannachar, leaders Krishna, Satish, Shekar Nayak, Sameer Rehamat Ulla and others took part in the protest.
