Retired ASI ends life after falling under moving train

Mysore/Mysuru: A retired Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) has committed suicide by falling under a moving train in city yesterday.

The deceased ASI is Lavakusha (60), a resident of Bogadi, who had served as an ASI at K.R. Police Station in city. He had retired just three months back.

He leaves behind his wife Bhanumathi, two daughters and a host of relatives and friends.

Yesterday evening, the retired ASI ended his life by coming under a moving train behind Crawford Hall, near Kukkarahalli Lake Railway Gate and the reason for him to end his life is yet to be known, Police said.

Railway Police, who rushed to the spot, conducted mahazar and shifted the body to MMC&RI mortuary, where post-mortem was conducted this morning and the body was handed over to the family members.

Krishnaraja (KR) Inspector Dhanaraj, Sub-Inspector Pooja and staff visited the mortuary and paid their last respects.  Last rites were held at Kuppe village in K.R. Nagar taluk this afternoon.
