Retired KSOU Professor stages protest for pension

Mysore/Mysuru: Accusing the KSOU authorities of showing apathy in resolving his pension issue, Prof. M. Rangaswamy, a retired Kannada  Professor of city-based KSOU, staged a solo stir in the Office of the KSOU Vice-Chancellor here on Friday.

Prof. Rangaswamy had retired from KSOU in July 2022.

Alleging that he had not been paid pension for the past 15 months post his retirement in July last year, Prof. Rangaswamy maintained that his pension problem has not been solved though he met the VC on Oct. 11, during which he was assured of pension settlement.

But even after many days of the assurance, his pension problem remains unresolved, he said adding that the Varsity authorities issued the pension order after much persistence.

Stating that the authorities have promised him of pension by Oct. 31, he said he would wait until then and was withdrawing his stir based on the promise.

Prof. Rangaswamy had also served as the Registrar (Evaluation) of KSOU and also as Registrar of the city-based Music University.
