Retired Principal dies of heart attack while returning from Amarnath Yatra

Mysore/Mysuru: A 68-year-old retired College Principal of the city died of heart attack when he was on Amarnath Yatra. D.N. Basavaraju, a retired Principal of JSS D.Ed College at Suttur and a resident of Bogadi II Stage in city, is the deceased.

Basavaraju, along with his family members had gone on a North India tour, which also included Amarnath and Vaishno Devi Yatras. After completing Amarnath Yatra, the family was returning to Mysuru, when Basavaraju reportedly suffered a massive heart attack and passed away.

Basavaraju had served the JSS Institutions for 33 years. He is survived by his wife Dakshayini, sons M.B. Darshan and Indudhar and a host of relatives and friends.  His body was brought to his residence and kept for public viewing  this morning, following which the last rites were held at Bogadi, according to family sources.
