Rider booked for misleading number plate

Mysore/Mysuru: A two-wheeler rider has been booked on the charges of cheating for partly covering the number plate of his vehicle to avoid paying fine related to violations of traffic rules.

The rider was found moving on his Honda Activa-125 scooter, with the registration number KA-09 JM-20 against the actual number of KA-09 JM-2022, covering the last two numbers (22) in the rear number plate by a sticker to avoid paying the traffic fine, on Hinkal road in VV Puram Traffic Police limits.

VV Puram Traffic Police who succeeded in tracing the scooter and also the rider, lodged a cheating complaint at Vijayanagar Police Station for further action.

The case was cracked under the guidance of DCP (Crime and Traffic) S. Jahnavi , by a Police team led by ACP (Traffic) Parashuramappa, that included Inspector of VV Puram Traffic Police Station M.R. Lava, PSI Gowtham Gowda and staff Mahadeva Swamy.

City Police Commissioner B. Ramesh greeted the team.
