Mysuru: A two-wheeler rider was killed on the spot after coming under a moving truck at Kautilya Circle near Maharaja’s College Grounds yesterday. Though the rider was wearing a helmet, it could not save him.
The deceased has been identified as B. Shivaramu, a resident of Vijayanagar 4th Stage, 2nd Phase in city.
Shivaramu, who came from Crawford Hall side, took a right turn at the Circle to go towards Saraswathipuram Fire Brigade junction. Meanwhile, the truck, which came from Ramaswamy Circle side, was proceeding towards Saraswathipuram Fire Brigade Circle when Shivaramu came under the truck.
As the truck cabin was in height the accident did not come to the notice of the driver, who kept on driving to some distance. He stopped only after realising that there was something under the truck. It was only when he got down he saw the scooter and the rider stuck under the vehicle.
Krishnaraja (KR) Traffic Police, who reached the spot, conducted mahazar and registered a case. The Police have also seized the truck and the scooter.
Shivaramu’s body was shifted to Mysore Medical College and Research Institute (MMC&RI) mortuary for post-mortem.
