Rider killed as car hits scooter

Mysore/Mysuru: A two-wheeler rider was killed on the spot, while the pillion rider sustained injuries, after their vehicle was allegedly hit by a car on Bogadi-Gaddige Main Road in the city yesterday night.

The deceased has been identified as Darshan (27), a resident of T.K. Layout in city. His friend Manu, who was riding pillion, is admitted at a private hospital here. Both were employed at a private firm, it is said.

The accident occurred at around 8 pm, when the duo was returning home from SBM Layout. As the scooter entered the main road, the car coming from Gaddige side, rear ended the vehicle and dragged it to a distance, before coming to a halt. Both the vehicles were partially mangled in the incident.

Kuvempunagar Traffic Police have registered a case.
