Rider killed as goods vehicle hits

Mysore/Mysuru: A two-wheeler rider was killed on the spot when a speeding goods vehicle rammed into the bike on Bannur Road yesterday evening. The deceased is Mahadevu (58), a resident of Badagalahundi village in the taluk.

Yesterday at about 5 pm, Mahadevu was proceeding on Bannur Road towards Mysuru and took a right turn to go to a petrol bunk when the goods vehicle, proceeding from Bannur to Mysuru city rammed into the bike killing Mahadevu on the spot.

Arakere Police, who reached the spot, conducted mahazar, seized both vehicles and shifted the body to MMC&RI mortuary besides registering a case.

After post-mortem this morning, the body was handed over to the family members.
