Rider killed as goods vehicle hits bike

Mysore/Mysuru: A bike rider was killed on the spot, while pillion rider sustained injuries when a goods vehicle hit the bike at Vijayanagar 4th Stage yesterday.

While the deceased bike rider has been identified as Ananthu (35), a resident of Mutturayana Hosalli in Hunsur taluk, the injured pillion rider is Krishnegowda of Chunchanakatte Benaganahalli.

Yesterday at about 3.30 pm, the goods vehicle (KA-09-D-9616), which was proceeding towards Vijayanagar 4th Stage from the Outer Ring Road, hit the Hero Passion Pro bike (KA-45-L-4937) which was coming towards Mysuru from Hootagalli side, killing rider Ananthu on the spot and injuring Krishnegowda. The injured has been admitted to a private hospital in city.

Police said that Ananthu was married about two-and-a-half-years ago and has a one-and-a-half-year-old son.

V.V. Puram Traffic Police have registered a case in this regard.
