Mysore/Mysuru: A bike rider was killed, while another rider sustained serious head injuries, when their bikes collided head-on near Jayanagar under-bridge last night.
While the deceased has been identified as Darshan Kumar (31), a resident of T.K. Layout and a contract employee at MCC, another rider, who has sustained serious injuries, is Shivakumar and he has been admitted to K.R. Hospital. Yesterday at about 10.45 pm, Darshan was proceeding on his Bajaj Pulsar bike from Ballal Circle side towards the under-bridge, when Shivakumar, riding his Pulsar bike from Jayanagar under-bridge side, collided head-on with Darshan’s bike resulting in both the riders sustaining serious injuries. Though Darshan was rushed to K.R. Hospital, the doctors declared him brought dead.
Post-mortem was conducted this morning at MMC&RI mortuary and the body was handed over to the family members. K.R. Traffic Police, who have registered a case, have seized both the bikes and are investigating.
