Rider killed as unidentified vehicle hits

Nanjangud:  A two-wheeler rider was killed on the spot, when an unidentified vehicle rammed into the scooter he was riding near Valmiki Bhavan on Chamarajanagar Bypass Road yesterday evening.

The deceased is Srikantu (52), President of Srikanteshwara Temple Employees’ Association and a resident of Teachers’ Colony in the town.

Srikantu, was returning on his scooter from the Temple and while he was proceeding on the Bypass Road, an unidentified vehicle rammed into his scooter killing him on the spot, according to Nanjangud Traffic Police, who have registered a case.

He leaves behind his wife, two daughters, two sons and a host of relatives and friends.

Last rites were held at the burial grounds on the banks of Kapila River this afternoon.
