Rider killed, pillion riders injured as SUV rams into bike

Mysuru: A two-wheeler rider was killed on the spot while two pillion riders sustained injuries when a Mahindra XUV Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) rammed into the bike at D. Subbaiah Road-D. Devaraj Urs Road Junction at about 1 am today.

The deceased has been identified as Sachin (27), son of Venkatesh and a resident of G.B. Saragur in H.D. Kote taluk. The injured pillion riders are Gaurav and Devaraj, who have been admitted to K.R. Hospital in city.

Sachin, along with Gaurav and Devaraj, were proceeding on the bike from D. Subbaiah Road towards Devaraj Urs Road, when the Mahindra XUV, driven by one Prithviraj, which was proceeding from K.R. Side towards JLB Road Junction, rammed into the bike, killing Sachin and injuring the two pillion riders.

Devaraja Traffic Inspector Mamata and staff, who reached the spot, conducted mahazar, registered a case and shifted the body to MMC&RI mortuary besides seizing both the vehicles involved in the accident.

Post-mortem was conducted this noon and the body was handed over to deceased Sachin’s family members.
