Rider suffers fracture after ramming bike into PWD Minister’s car

Mysore/Mysuru: A bike rider, who was said to be under the influence of liquor, reportedly rammed his bike into PWD Minister C.C. Patil’s car and suffered a fracture on his left leg. The accident took place near old RMC on Sayyaji Rao Road yesterday evening.

The injured bike rider has been identified as 45-year-old Ravikumar of Tilaknagar, who has been admitted to K.R. Hospital by the escort staff of the Minister.

Minister Patil, who was in city to take part in a programme, was proceeding on Sayyaji Rao Road along with escort vehicles, when  Ravikumar, who was proceeding from old RMC side towards Bamboo Bazaar, reportedly took a right turn suddenly and hit the Minister’s car resulting in him sustaining a fracture on his left leg.

The Minister immediately shifted Ravikumar to K.R. Hospital in his escort vehicle and later visited the hospital and enquired his health.

Police said that the accident took place as the rider was drunk and added that both the vehicles have been damaged besides stating that the bike and the car involved in the accident have been seized.

Based on the complaint from Kumaraswamy, the driver of the Minister’s car, a case has been registered against Ravikumar at N.R. Traffic Police Station.
