The recent fatal accident on Ring Road (near GRS Fantasy Park) is an eye-opener to all. I have been travelling in this road since last 15 years and I find that many motorists are reckless and even impatient while driving.
After the ghastly accident of a PG student a couple of years back, heavy steel barricades donated by RBI were installed on the road along with a scientific road hump made of hard rubber. This was a meaningful move and all vehicles were made to halt and proceed without any issues.
Slowly later, some culprits moved these barricades, first to the footpath side and then, they vanished from the spot! The road is newly metalled in the recent past and it is a tendency of the motorists to zoom very fast here, thus causing fatal accidents and taking the lives of innocent people.
Many have complained and written through these columns about this but still no action is taken. I request the authorities to look into this immediately and install heavy steel barricades as was earlier along with a scientific road hump for smooth flow of traffic and save innocent lives.
