This refers to the news item “Ring of Light: 42-Km Outer Ring Road Glows, Again” in SOM dated May 9, 2020. The lights have gone off and the road has again plunged into darkness, endangering the safety of people using the motorway and residents of layouts beyond the road.
The city including the Columbia Asia Junction has been illuminated during Dasara season which surely has added grandeur but no attention has been paid to illuminate the street lights on this busy stretch.
I am not sure if any Official from the civic authorities has taken a round of the Ring Road recently after dusk, or is this hardship reserved only for the chauffeurs of their air-conditioned cars and the common man who has to endure this hardship as a price for using this much-publicised road?
