Mysuru District Masters Athletic Association has organised RNM Memorial Road Race – 2019 (Run for Health) on May 1 in city.
The Race will be held in the following categories: 5 to 10 years, 10 to 15 years, 16 to 40 years and 40 years and above (Boys, Girls, Men and Women).
Interested may register their names before 4.30 pm on Apr.30 at Lions Club, adjacent to Oval Grounds and get the chest number.
Mayor Pushpalatha Jaganath will flag off the Race at 7.30 am on May 1 in front of the DC’s office in the presence of University of Mysore’s (UoM) Department of Physical Education (DPE) Director (in-Charge) Dr. P. Krishnaiah.
The valedictory function will be held on the same day at 9.30 am at the Lions Club Hall, University Sports Complex.
Former MLA Vasu will be the chief guest and retired UoM DPE Director Dr. C. Krishna will be the guest of honour. Mysuru District Masters Athletic Association President Sumana Narasimha Murthy will preside over the programme.
On the occasion, Asian Para Games 2018 Javelin-Throw silver medallist N.S. Ramya will be felicitated. National and International Master Athletics Medallist 90-year-old N.R. Shankar Rao and National Master Athletics and Swimming Medallist 80-year-old M.V.V. Swamy will be presented with Lifetime Achievement Awards. Award of Honour will be presented to 2019 National Medallists C.B. Chaluve Gowda, M. Yogendra, V. Rekha and T.G. Asha.
