Road hump needed near Vijayanagar Water Tank

Many readers have already written about the urgent need to erect a road hump in front of Sapthagiri Glass Shop, near Vijayanagar Water Tank.

Crossing this stretch of road has become a nightmare for motorists and pedestrians alike, given the increasing volume of traffic.

The situation is particularly difficult for vehicles travelling from Vijayanagar Water Tank towards Trinetra Circle and those turning towards Vidyavardhaka Engineering College.

At the same time, vehicles coming from Trinetra Circle towards the Water Tank, especially those intending to take a right turn towards Railway Layout, face considerable difficulty negotiating this busy junction.

Adding to the problem is the gradient of the road from the Water Tank towards Trinetra Circle. Vehicles travelling downhill naturally tend to gather speed, increasing the risk of accidents at this point.

I appreciate the new Mysuru City Corporation Commissioner for responding positively even to small public requests through this column. I am confident that the Commissioner will kindly consider this genuine concern and arrange for a suitable road hump at this location at the earliest.

Installing a road hump here would help regulate vehicle speeds, facilitate smoother traffic movement and, most importantly, reduce the possibility of accidents.

I therefore request the MCC Commissioner Savitha  to take immediate action in the interest of public safety.
