A progress review meeting on road repairs in city was chaired by Deputy Commissioner D. Randeep at his office here this morning.
Randeep disclosed that Rs. 5.81 crore has been released by the Government for road repairs in city which will be used to fill up pot-holes on all the roads coming under categories A, B, and C. He added that another action plan for Rs. 2.5 crore for road repairs has been prepared.
Continuing, Randeep said that preparation was on to upload details of road repairs completed and underway to the MCC website for ensuring transparency in work. Referring to the recent inundations in several areas in city owing to heavy downpour, Randeep said that encroachments on Rajakaluve were being cleared and added that alternative measures to prevent flooding in areas like Kanakagiri, Paduvarahalli, J.C. Layout and Srirampura was ready with an outlay of Rs. 7 crore. He further said that MCC Control Room would monitor incoming bulk messages on inundations and organise remedial measures.
MCC commissioner G. Jagadeesha, participating in the meeting, assured that the road repair work would be initiated once the rain stops. MCC Superintending Engineer Suresh Babu and other officials attended the meeting.
