Rohan Bopanna-Matthew Ebden enter Wimbledon Quarterfinals

The sixth- seeded pair of India’s Rohan Bopanna and Australian Matthew Ebden beat the duo of Reese Stalder and David Pel to enter the Men’s Doubles Quarterfinals at the Wimbledon Championships here on Tuesday.

The Indo-Australian duo defeated the combine of American Stalder and Dutchman Pel 7-5, 4-6, 7-6 (10-5) in a pre-quarterfinal match that lasted two hours and 19 minutes.

Bopanna and Ebden next meet the Dutch duo of Tallon Griekspoor and Bart Stevens today (July 12) at 7.30 pm (IST).

Djokovic enters semi-finals

Serbian ace Novak Djokovic reached the semi-finals at 2023 Wimbledon after beating Andrey Rublev.

The former World No. 1 survived an initial scare and went on to win 4-6, 6-1, 6-4, 6-3 at the Centre Court.

Djokovic, the defending champion, has now sailed into his 12th semi-final at Wimbledon. He also became the second man to feature in 400  Grand Slam matches.

Djokovic will  now take on 8th seed Jannik Sinner in the semi-finals to be held on July 14.

Jannik Sinner broke new ground at Wimbledon on Tuesday as the Italian powered into the semi-finals of a Grand Slam for the first time with a 6-4, 3-6, 6-2, 6-2 win over big-hitting Russian Roman Safiullin.
