Mysuru: The 46th installation ceremony of Rotary Mysore Midtown was held in city recently. Rtn. Prof. Elizabeth Cherian, Immediate Past District Governor, RID 3192, was the chief guest and Installing Officer.
Past Assistant Governor (AG) Rtn. Naveen Chandra was the special invitee. Current Assistant Governor Rtn. Prathap Shetty from Rotary Central and Zonal Lieutenant Rtn. Kumaraswamy from Rotary Midtown were the guests of honour.
Addressing Rotarians, Prof. Elizabeth reminded that Rotary projects should never be undertaken merely to impress others but should emerge from their conscience and create sustainable, long-lasting impact on society.
She also spoke about the educational challenges faced by rural girl children — even in the “urban villages” of our cities — and emphasised the importance of skill development and women empowerment as essential areas of Rotary service.
