Rotary North-Kadamba Award conferred

Mysore/Mysuru: “If artistes can closely observe the happenings in the society and understand them properly, acting skills will come automatically. Society is a learning centre for artistes,” opined veteran actress Girija Lokesh.

She was speaking  after presenting ‘Rotary North-Kadamba Award’ being given jointly by Rotary Mysore North and Kadamba Ranga Vedike, at a function held at Kirurangamandira, Kalamandira premises in city recently.

“There is lot to learn in theatre just as in life. If open to learning, an artiste can see opportunities in his home too. By closely observing the mannerisms, innocence, plays and antics of small kids and as well as the movements of animals and birds, an artiste can effortlessly portray any role. Observing the attitude of politicians and understanding the life of poor people can help artistes to become good actors,” said Girija Lokesh.

Udayakumar of ‘Gejje Hejje’ fame and artiste Shylaja were conferred with Rotary North-Kadamba Award and felicitated on the occasion.

Kadamba Rangavedike President Rajashekar Kadamba, Rotary Mysore North President M.K. Sridhar, Secretary Raju, M.K. Nanjaiah and G. Subbanarasimha were present  on the occasion.
