Row over renaming KRS Road: Nothing wrong in naming road after CM Siddaramaiah: GTD

December 29, 2024

Mysuru: With for and against statements coming from politicians and various sections of the society with regard to renaming KRS Road between Sri Lakshmi Venkataramana Swamy Temple and Royal Inn as ‘Siddaramaiah Arogya Marga’, JD(S) leader and Chamundeshwari MLA G.T. Devegowda yesterday opined that there is no wrong in naming the road after Chief Minister Siddaramaiah provided it is not named after the members of the Mysore Royal Family.

Speaking to media persons, Devegowda said that there were confusions with respect to naming for the road. “While MP Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar and others claim that the road had been named as ‘Princess Road’ others claim that there are no documents to prove it.”

The issue of naming the PKTB (Princess Krishnajammanni Tuberculosis and Chest Diseases Hospital) has been discussed. While I have information about the road being already named after the Princess, if not named there is nothing wrong in naming the road after CM Siddaramaiah, he added.
