Rowdy-sheeter among three arrested for murdering friend

Mysore/Mysuru: Metagalli Police have arrested three persons including a rowdy-sheeter on charges of murdering their friend over petty issue on Aug. 24 and trying to destroy the evidence.

While the victim is identified as Somashekar, the accused are 25-year-old Sathyanarayan, 26-year-old K.A. Parashuram and 25-year-old Mukund, all residents of B.M. Sri Nagar in city.

On Aug. 24 at about 10.15 pm, all the four had been to the farm of one Venkatappa at B.M. Sri Nagar and while they were chatting, Sathyanarayan switched on the torch on his mobile phone and directed the light to the face of Somashekar, who objected and snatched the                                     mobile phone.

Soon, a wordy duel ensued between them and escalated further during which Sathyanarayan allegedly stabbed Somashekar on his stomach with a dagger and killed him.

Metagalli Inspector A. Mallesh, who had registered a case, took up the investigation and arrested all the accused on Sept. 2 and produced them before a Court which remanded the accused to judicial custody.

Accused Sathyanarayan (Accused No. 1) has two cases already registered against him for assault and riots at Metagalli Police Station and a rowdy-sheeter file was opened against him.

Madhukumar, Diwakar, Rajesh, Krishna, Shivakumar and Likith, Technical Cell Division Inspector Lolakshi and staff Gurudevaradhya, Manjunath, Shyam and Kumar in the nabbing operation, according to a press release from the PRO, City Police Commissioner’s  Office, Mysuru.
