Mandya: In a swift action, the Mandya Police have thwarted a plot to eliminate Mandya’s notorious rowdy-sheeter Ashok Pai, with the custody of four persons.
This is said to be the second plot on the rowdy-sheeter’s life in recent days.
Details: Ashok Pai was coming to the RTO office in Mandya on a motorcycle on Tuesday afternoon to get his Driving Licence (DL), when another group of rowdies followed him in two cars. While one car originated from the Horticulture Department office, another car followed him from RTO Road.
Ashok Pai, who got suspicious about the two cars, tipped off the Police, following which the Mandya Police arrived at the RTO office and succeeded in nabbing the occupants of both the cars.
During interrogation, they confessed to have hatched a plot to eliminate Ashok Pai; while two of those taken into custody have been identified as Dilip and Guru, the identity of others is not yet known.
This was the second attempt on the life of Ashok Pai who was released from the prison over a year ago. The first attempt was in January this year, when miscreants attacked Ashok Pai when he was on his way to visit his wife at Madanahalli in the taluk. However, Pai escaped the attempt in cinematic style then, it is learnt.
