Rowdy-sheeter sent to judicial custody

Hunsur: Rowdy-sheeter Sunil alias Papu of Sadashivanakoppal in the town was arrested and sent to judicial custody for obstructing a Police Constable from discharging his duty and also defying the externment orders issued by the Deputy Commissioner who is also the District Magistrate.

The District Magistrate had issued externment order against Sunil, who was involved in various riot cases and had externed him from the district till Apr.19 on account of polls for Mysuru- Kodagu LS Constituency.

As per the orders, the Police externed the rowdy-sheeter to Sira town of neighbouring Tumakuru district. But Sunil entered the district on Apr. 18, appeared at Sadashivanakoppal Primary School polling booth around 5 pm and exercised his franchise.

Police Constable Anil Kumar, who was on duty at the polling booth, noticed the rowdy-sheeter and questioned his presence, following which rowdy-sheeter Sunil attacked the Constable, pushed him and fled from the spot.  

Based on the complaint by Anil Kumar, the Police arrested Sunil near Sadashivanakoppal Police Quarters and produced him before a Court which remanded him to judicial custody.   

SI Mahesh, Head Constable Jagadeesh and staff took part in the nabbing operation.
