Rs. 1 lakh hundi cash stolen at Temple

Mysuru/Mysore: Burglars have decamped with Rs. 1 lakh cash from hundies at Ganapati Temple, near Vinayaka Circle in Lalitha Mahal Nagar on Friday, the night of Shivaratri.

Temple Priest Narendra Joshi, after performing pujas and other rituals on the occasion of Shivaratri festival till 10 pm, closed the Temple and went home.

On Saturday morning at about 5 am, Yoga students, who had come for the classes being held in front of the temple, came to know about the theft and immediately informed Temple Committee Member Puttaswamegowda.

On inspecting the Temple, about Rs. 1 lakh cash in three hundis offered by devotees was found stolen.

A case has been registered at Alanahalli Police Station.
