Rs.17 lakh worth coins distributed among city hoteliers

Mysuru/Mysore:  Probably for the first time in city, currency coins worth Rs.17 lakh were distributed among hoteliers. Non- availability of exact change was a headache for hoteliers whenever a customer asked. This sometimes led to unpleasant experience for both customers and hoteliers. 

Realising this, the Mysore Hotel Owners Association distributed coins worth Rs.17.5 lakh. Coins were distributed last evening at 6 and it took three hours to accomplish the feat. 

The coins in the denominations of Rupee 1, Rs. 2, Rs. 5 and Rs. 10 were sourced from Vijaya Bank, Bengaluru, to be distributed among the hoteliers for their daily circulation in the restaurants and eateries. The coins, neatly packed in gunny bags, were transported from Bengaluru in trucks and were distributed. 

Coins were brought in a truck from Bengaluru to be distributed among city hoteliers.

According to Association President C. Narayana Gowda it was for the first time such a huge amount of coins were distributed among the hotelier fraternity. Coins were distributed at Association Office directly from the truck. 

Office-bearers of the Association Ravi Shastry, Ravindra Bhat, Jagadish Babu, Rammohan, Subramanya Tantri, Kiran, Anilkumar, Bhaskar Shetty, Mahadev and Ugraiah were present.
