Mysuru: Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) Commissioner M.K. Savitha has suspended the Revenue Inspector (RI) of MCC Zone-2 Office D.M. Manjunath pending enquiry for dereliction of duty.
Following complaints from the public that Manjunath was deliberately delaying the issuance of e-khata, MCC Zone-2 Commissioner had issued notices on various dates seeking explanation.
As Manjunath did not reply in writing to the notices and was also delaying the works, the DC (Revenue) had recommended disciplinary action against Manjunath.
In the meantime, one Pavithra has applied for Form 2 (Pouthi) khata at MCC Zone- 2 Office on Feb. 3, 2026 and despite her visiting the Office for more than 2-3 months continuously, no steps were taken to issue the same.
When Advocate K. Lokesh visited MCC Zone-2 Office on behalf of Pavithra for the khata, Manjunath allegedly demanded Rs. 1 lakh bribe to issue the khata following which the Advocate transferred Rs. 50,000 from his bank account via PhonePe but Manjunath reportedly told the Advocate that the khata would be provided once the balance amount of Rs. 50,000 is paid.
Advocate Lokesh then lodged a complaint and had produced relevant documents along with the complaint. As the allegations against RI Manjunath were proven prima facie, he has been suspended from service.
